In Regulating Together we teach several relaxation strategies, one of which is Triangle Breathing. This video teaches how to do Triangle Breathing and how to use it in a situation that could happen at school or when playing with friends!
When first learning a new relaxation skill, it is really important to practice it first when your child is calm. Added practice when calm will help develop muscle memory for the skill. Once they are really good at the skill, then you can use it when they need calm down because they are triggered or upset. We hope this is a helpful skill for your family!
